How to capture Flash movies to disk
Hi,
I'd like to write a program to capture Flash movies to disk. As a movie plays you can see a temporary file build up haltingly in the user's Local Settings\Temp directory, but the file cannot be copied and disappears when the browser window is closed. On the other hand, the next time the movie is played, the file in Temp directory builds up again but the movie is played much more smoothly, indicating that a cache was kept somewhere but I can't figure out where. .
In a document or presentation about backup I saw someone make a copy of a file that someone has locked by going into some sort of cache directory. Does this ring a bell with anyone?
Another approach may be with a Web Browser Control and somehow getting at the document.
BTW, I purchased a program Save Flash that claims to do this but it doesn't really work.
Any ideas?
TIA,
Alex

Update: I shut down the machine (not a very good idea) and was able to copy the file. Even though it contains text that seems related to flash, it does not open with either the Flash viewer or Internet Explorer.
