>I would like to find out more about what things inspire people to be creative and productive. A person’s environment can greatly affect the way they work and live. I want to learn what the ideal physical and psychological environments would be for people to get great work done. It could be anything from having pool tables and lava lamps in the office to having free lunches from the company to feeling worthy and respected by your peers and managers.

A positive environment that allows individuality. No corporate rules just for the sake of control. No phrases heard like, "There's no 'I' in team!" Flexibility in time. Defined, but realistic and reasonable goals. No working lunches. No mandatory "town meetings" just so the visitor can be impressed with the turnout. Lots of natural light and an enclosed space; none of these modernistic "open" workspaces.
But, the 2nd most important, right after getting a paycheck that will maintain my quality of life, is doing something that has purpose. Currently I support deferring money for already well-to-do people in order for them to save on taxes. Big freaking deal. Too bad everyday jobs that could actually contribute some good in the world don't pay as well as keeping dividends coming to some executive for his summer house in the Poconos. Not that I'm bitter :-D but there is something definately skewed about it.
