I don't know if "important" would be the word I'd use. Like to see them, yes, but not at the expense of some other thing (like better ActiveX, again). Of the two, reports more than menus.
The LIFO stack manipulation of the menus is a very powerful feature if youed correctly. As a result, that'd be probably one of the least important things I'd like to see implemented.
A better report designer (perhaps integrated into VS) which be much higher on my list. For myself, an OOP implementation would give me tighter control of the process as along as I had control of preview tools bars, etc.
