>>Hi.

The Norton "virus Detected" nag window is constantly up and when I dismiss it it keeps poppping up again ad nauseum.

Thanks Jay

Yes, I'm willing, able and HAVE deleted the entries in the registry. Makes no difference. Can't remember the name off-hand (haven't used my home 'puter for a week), and distinct names aren't cited on Norton's help centre, just Trojan Virus. I don't know what the behaviour is - I detect nothing untoward. Just this Norton nag message I can't get rid of. I don't know if it's one of those credit card no. or bank detail pinchers, or something quite innocuous. But I've nevver known Norton to kick up such a fuss.

I went through all the steps, including disabling system restore, so the virus can't insinuate itself back in the registry, but that had no effect. I think it may be due to my not having any restore points to which to return, BEFORE the bugger got in there (don't know why I haven't)

Any more ideas?
