My problem with frameworks is that the developer has to learn two programming platforms. If you have a "software shop", you have to exclude really good VFP developers when filling a position for developers that have split thier expertise between fox and the fw.

For speed and power, VFP by itself is all that is needed. I never understood frameworks. The kinds of projects we do with VFP are not rocket science - they're pretty simple. A framework implies that the task is too complicated for the developer to 'map" out with just VFP. And, a framework, just puts a bit too much "fat" in the broth for my liking. There was a time I could spot whiich framework "brand" a shop used just by the way the GUIs looked and slogged!:-)
