Some agencies do harvest Cv's by placing bogus ads.They can then use those cv's to get information about who is using what software and chase those companies as potential clients. Sometimes they try to get more information from you like "who where you working for there ?". Its very useful to the agency to get a name of someone who may be in the management structure.
There isn't really any way of validating wether its a real requirement or not.
