Title:
Error reading and writing to file
Environment versions
Network:
Windows 2000 Server
I am working on a FoxPro 6 application with a MS SQL Server back end.
Part of the application involves importing two text files into two free tables, selecting certain records by comparing the two tables then adding those records to the SQL database.
This has all worked fine until recently a remote location 300 miles from the main server (connected by a T1 line) started getting "Error reading file" and "Error writing to file." With the latter error they also get a "Delayed Write Failed" bubble.
Since the free tables are created on the main server, I assume the errors are caused by a network problem.
Would it help to use CREATE CURSOR instead of CREATE TABLE FREE? Is there something else I should look at?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
