Ok OK I give up ........

I gave up on the General field use.. and have developed a file
where I save the scan-file path and file name in text fields.

Now.... I need a "general" viewer to pass the file name to, to display the file.
OR.. with in Foxpro a way to activate Windows file handler to get the correct
installed viewer for display the saved file.

Otherwise I will need to determine which installed viewer I need to use with
each file type. This will vary with each installation as well.

Is there a simple way to do this?????
