>I'm interested in why you think Harper "is now talking like every other politician". Putting aside the ideological gay marriage issue for a moment, his proposals have been fairly concrete e.g.

Because he's telling every interest group he meets that he'll give them what they want, or a good part of it.
Because his GST cut to 5% doesn't happen for years and years (6% now and another percentage point way out there).

No, to 6% right way and then to 5 sometime next decade.

>- give $120/month baby bonus to parents (I thought the Liberal response to this one was priceless and so, so telling)
No, $100. per month. No, not a "baby bonus" but rather an entitlement (which is fine with me) for kids from birth to school age. And I agree wholeheartedly that the Liberal reaction was most telling indeed.

>As I see it the Conservatives are putting out concrete policy alternatives and the Liberals are reacting. That looks like leadership to me. For the Conservatives, I think that's how an election campaign should be run - how would you do things differently?
Yes, it started out that way, with three things.
Now it lemme tell ya whatcha wanna hear.

It looks to me like he knows his political life is on the line and he's stooped to what all the big party politicians do in that case. It looks to me that he's thrown principles out the door.

To me it looks like Green is better than either not attending (never missed a Federal election yet) or spoiling my ballot. They can't win, but a message can be transmitted through them.
