thanks for the reply and for the reply about Trim mode for character expressions a week or so ago.
I spent some time on the message boards and there are a number of exampes that show sending a plain text file. The line:
loFaxDocument = loFaxServer.createdocument(lcTempFile)
apparently converts the text into the desired format. There were some posts about the same error message claiming that it worked until service pack 2 was installed on Win XP. Problem is that I can't get it to run on my old Win 2K PC. It just hangs in the same place. That PC has all the MS Patches though.
I guess I will have to stick with WinFax Pro.
