I've read of that software in the newspaper lately. It looks like your distributor here is doing a good advertising campaign.

You did not say what the upgrade was? Was it to SQL Server or was it to the workstations OS or was it to the application? However, I'd check Windows firewall settings first since most of my access problems lately have been bound to that. Also notice that AFAIK you'd need to install client access to comunicate with an instance of SQL Server.

>This a commercial application called Profit Plus.. the problem came when they made an upgrade, with the older version, all the workstations worked fine with Client Access intalled, but when they made the updgrade, only those workstations with Client Acccess intalled stopped accessing the database via Profit Plus, but the ODBC was ok.

>>Jonathan are you accesing the server from a workstation or is it a local server? If you're using a workstation make sure you configured an alias name for the server and that WinXP/SP2 firewall is not blocking the port used by SQL Server. Also check that TCP/IP and/or named pipes protocols are enabled because SQL Server SP3 and up disable all network protocols by default.

I'm a mixture of Albert Einstein and Arnold Schwarzenegger. The only trouble is that I got Einstein's body and Schwarzenegger's brain
