>I am geting a satellite radio for Christmas and wondering which one. Specifically I am interested in making sure I get all the NHL games. I have been to both sites -
http://www.xmradio.com and
http://www.sirius.com. Sirius claims to have exclusive rights to broadcast all NHL games live, but I "think" I also see all the games with XM (they only post the schedules and channels for the upcoming month through January in this case). I do like the added bonus of all the NFL and NBA games with Sirius. I could care less about XM having MLB and Sirius not having it since the Texas Rangers always $uck and the only other "little" guy who wins is the Marlins once every 5 years or so after a major rebuilding.

A clerk at Myer Emco told me that XM was cheaper and more flexible than Sirius, but I didn't get around to asking whether he referred to the hardware or the service, or what the difference actually was. He mainly said that if I didn't need Howard Stern or any other particular thing Sirius had that XM didn't, then XM was the better deal.
I don't have it yet, but I'm considering a MyFi portable XM receiver, since I might use it at home, in the car, or elsewhere. Myer Emco sells it for $200 and offers a $50 rebate.
I think that such a device ought to play MP3s as well, but the MyFi doesn't.
Myer Emco had only the MyFi portable, and a car unit that can be controlled by a "satellite-ready" car stereo, but can't be used away from the car. The MyFi can connect to any home stereo and some car stereos through a stereo mini-plug wire. It also transmits low power FM at 87.9 or something to connect wirelessly with conventional radios.
