Thanks for the reply. I am basically doing what you outlned. Building a select string, where string and order by string. I was then just doing some string concatenation to put the whole thing togehter. Your way is actually easier, but is there any penalty to all those macro subsitutions? I thought I read that macro subsitution was slow and should be avoided?
