Just a guess, I haven't tried it. The GroupBox has a BackgroundImage property. How about setting the image to a bitmap that is transparent. Do you think that would work?

That group box is transparent to the form background, which is using the XP style for its layout. I have not found the way to do it in .NET. When we go in BackColor property, there is no option for transparency. Someone found a way to do that?
