Hi John, Sorry for the late reply, I haven't been on UT for a while.

I'm doing exactly what you are doing, setting the interval to 0 when the timer event fires.

I was working on this as a side project earlier this year, and was left unfinished, so I don't have it set up to test properly to see if the timer event keeps firing. Is the timer event taking up cycles, or repeatedly calling the same code when it shouldn't? Sorry this isn't fresher in my mind so I could be of more help...
