Was just doing this myself and the quality of the resulting video using the Sony software using a Handycam was not very good. Plus, it took over 5 hours to transfer an hour's worth of tape. Wolf Camera in our area will send off the tape to their labs to have it converted. It costs $40 to have two hours of recorded tape transferred onto DVD. They said that the quality is nearly as good as the tape. I think Ritz Camera has the same service. I'll be getting it back in a couple weeks and will let you know how it came out.

>Thanks Chris.

>>I have been using Pinnacle Studio 9 for a few years now. Just updated to 10. Its very easy to use but its buggy. With 9, would have to click SAVE frequently due to lock ups. Not sure if 10 is as buggy as 9 was, just havent used it that much yet. Its fairly powerful for the price. I'd like to try the higher end programs but you're looking at a couple hundred bucks. And i'm not sure if the better ones run on Windows... like Final Cut Pro. For audio, Pinnacle supports mp3 format, not m4p. So for your iTunes tunes, you get the additional step of converting them to mp3 before u can use them. I have a sony PC and have been using their Giga Pocket software to capture VHS footage to AVI files, directly from the VHS player. Then u drop them into the Studio story board. I do like Studio, warts and all.
