I think the file is too large to use that function. It has over 3000 records with 799 characters on each line. I don't necessarily want to add a character to the end of the file or line. I need to add a delimiting character several times at different points in each line to break it up enough so as to be able to pull the record into several character fields in a cursor which can only hold 254 each.
