I was a McAfee user for many years, but never again.

I recently bought a new computer, removed the virus named Norton, and installed McAffee's suite. I started having problems surfing the web. Pages would get truncated. Sometimes you'd get the first couple of elements, sometimes nothing. (It makes a message board like UT pretty useless. <g>)

I did due diligence troubleshooting, taking the router out of the mix, etc., and finally uninstalled McAffee. Everything worked fine.

Now I use AVG (the paid version, with their firewall) and couldn't be happier. Why the others can't be so unintrusive is beyond me.

>With the new Dell I purchased, I got McAfee Security Center. I've never used McAfee, having always used Norton. However, I figured I'd give it a try. It seems to work ok, but there is one thing that I can't tolerate and that's the fact that they put up popup ads for their own product. I don't want any product that does this, so I'm thinking I'll move back to Norton, however Zone Alarm's product gets good reviews. Anybody used it? Do you see any unsolicited advertising. And, if so, is there a way to turn it off? (I'd rather have none, but would consider a product that lets you completely turn it off.)
