I have a VFP routine that opens a worddoc, performs bookmark substitution, saves the doc to a new file name, prints/emails it, then discards the changing to the original doc. In a busy multi-user environment, other users encounter contention problems if the doc is already opened. I have been doing some testing here on a machine where i copy the doc to a unique, temporary filename and then perform the bookmark sub to avoid contention. I'm finding that in Win98, fox can copy the file even though its already opened (by me), but am wondering if this is true for the other flavors of windows.
