Vermeil wasn't much of a surprise to me.

If KC had finished something like 12-4 and had won at least 1 playoff game, I think he might have stayed one more year.

But as it is, they are so inconsistent. Except for the Philly debacle, they were terrific at home - and except for the impressive win at Miami, they were pitiful on the road. Their road losses at Buffalo, Dallas, and the Giants were painful to watch.

I hear the folks in KC are all upset about winning 10 games and missing the post-season, but the truth is that every qualifying team is better than they are.
