You could have built an ADO (maybe you did?:-) and fed it from a textfile or old Access 97 DB.

The net code you presented resembles document element id notation. Is net a heirarcy of [nested] document elements? Sounds familiar. Like a browser engine. Am I really off?

You asked about Java in a previous post. JavaScript - to a beginner like me - is amazing. I have scripted "Objects" that do not have a CLID, but behave (and are addressed) as though one was assigned (like a java applet or activeX).

DHTML (style classes jacked with javascript) and DOM have certainly added some power (and control) to client scripting. It finally seems respectable.

BTW - over 70% of the worlds servers are UNIX/LINUX. Java will be le soup `d jour for quite some time.
