>Eleven have reported increases since 1990, with huge rises seen in Spain (41.7 pct), Portugal (36.7 pct), Greece (25.8 pct), Ireland (25.6 pct), Finland (21.5 pct) and Austria (16.5 pct).

Interesting in that there is a correlation with Portugal, Greece and Ireland who have all recently become much more prosperous due to EU help and support. Ireland is in the throes of destroying its own green heritage by building new roads, a huge increase in purchase of gas-guzzling SUVs, building of villas, appartments etc. surrounding some of the beautiful lakes, etc., no investment in railway or alternative transport. It so flies in the face of common sense. They aught to look at the fate of Easter Island.

All you guys need to do it turn some lights off when you're not using them, and up the temp a few degrees on the AC, for a start. Then walk to the mall for a change. In fact, just walk for a change. :-)

>Why was China exempted?

Like saying why is Japan exempt from the moritoriun on whaling. You can't force someone to sign and, like you said, even when they do they don't stick to it.

- Whoever said that women are the weaker sex never tried to wrest the bedclothes off one in the middle of the night
- Worry is the interest you pay, in advance, for a loan that you may never need to take out.
