I wasn't talking of several hundred records but several hundred thousands of records:) Maybe it's me, with LVs I have hourglass vs with grids I don't have it. With activex (not talking just about LV and TV) I've learned it hard that they had undocumented (unless in fineprint that I missed) limits.I would never attempt to present that much data to user - mine don't have time for it. If the project is SQL - the project relies on tightly scoped pass through. Never remote views.
That's just a lot of data to show - I contract vertical industrial applications - and those users are only interested in efficiency and value - each additional piece of data presented for the user's evaluation (that is not needed) is a distraction and increases production costs (a negative impact on productivity).
And now - with XML carriers - it seems even more important to precisely scope the data.
Less is more in my market!
Anyway it's a matter of choice so nothing to argue.I can't argue with that!:-)
