Then if you have the combobox dropped down, it will show (for example) K-P, again, "K" is the current item. If the mouse is within the combo drop-down area, and you type "F", to go to "F", the combobox closes and stays on "K".

Are you saying that this is the expected behavior of the VFP combobox, of the observable behavior? I guess I would not view this behavior as a bug, but it would be nicer if the search would proceed without the drop-down closing. There may be technical reasons why this is not possible.
