I wouldn't dream of correcting the native US contibutors - they can't help it {bg} - but D is a language and grammar enthusiast (as you apparently are), not a native anglophone and may have been led into bad habits by his environment. He'll probably come back and say "isn't it 'drought', as the participle of 'think' is 'thought'?". I believe he appreciates some corrections of grammar. It was probably a typo of his anyway.
