>Hi Arnon, > >Facts for facts, you are right. But i am pretty that you took my points: Java is open competition and Delphi environment includes decent and usable database+UI-orientated hi-level objects. > >I should really like to hear that Java offers this decent hi-level abstracted database+UI support to move onward in order to gain relative independance versus an oligopolistic market offering. I wouldn't worry too much regarding UI object new JARs, Beans etc. are popping out all the time and the Java UI capabilities keep on progressing as for data managment there are several technologies , JDBC, Enterprise Javabeans, RMI, Java IDL, infobus, servlets and several others some combination of them will be a descent way to manage data and middle tier objects- IMHO though not all these technologies are fully there yet In fact, today one of the best ways to access data in java is VJ and ADO - but hten you are tied to windows again...which it seems to me you want to evoid Arnon
