a satellite system is something I've been researching and I haven't found anything in my area or one that is cost effective yet. I have cablemodem at home right now which works fine but I think they charge too much because they have a monopoly on the service in too many locations. DSL was not available until recently due to my physical distance from the switching station but it runs about the same cost for the speed equivalent. Who is your service provider? Is it nationwide? Or local to the Memphis area?

I had already disconnected all the devices, waited a few minutes, then reconnected them, but it never ocurred to me to hold the power button while everything was unplugged. Have you heard of this before?

>>>I have a two way direcway, satellite system for internet and several times when the router went down, the tech support Pakistani told me to "you will be unplugging the coax wires and holding them in your hands please." Put them back on the system and it actually worked. Something to do with grounding.

>It's a home system. Using the new 6000 router. It actually works very well, when it's working (which is most of the time). It only has predictable problems in the worst of storms, and they don't last long. It is my only alternative because I live out away from the crime center otherwise known as Memphis (3rd most dangerous metro area in the US) and can't get cable or dsl. For my family's sake, I'll take that option.
