Boy do I feel stupid! I've gotten myself into a jam by agreeing to help turn a doorstop into something slightly useful. Does anyone have a clue on how to correct the following situation?

Hardware involved: IBM PS2 Model P70 386
Situation: FDISK and formatted hard drive. Attempted to load
MSDOS 6.0. The software load appears to go fine but when the
computer is rebooted, the following message appears:

The MS-DOS 6.22 Setup was not completed
Insert the UNINSTALL #1 diskette in drive A
Press the ENTER key to continue

I have no clue where the 6.22 came from on this machine but I
do have an old Uninstall (not for this machine) that I tried to use here but it comes back and says:

UNINSTALL DISK MISMATCH
The information on this Uninstall disk does not match
your hard disk. To uninstall MS-DOS 6.22 from this
system you will need to use the most current Uninstall
disk you created while installing MS-DOS 6.22 on this
system. Please remove this Uninstall disk from your
drive and press the ENTER key to restart your system.

As I said above, this all comes _AFTER_ a format of the hard disk. I may have at one time known how to get past this but it seems I've lost too many brain cells to figure it out now.

HELP!
