>There are about 15 users on the network using the FoxproLan 2.0 exe that I maintain. Recently one of the users is getting the insufficient memory error message when printing invoices. Does this have to do with the users workstation memory or the server's memory or both? I also have several users who occasionally get the too many memory variables error as well. I have increased the mvcount to 2500 through the config.fp file but they are still getting the error once in a while. I have read that the higher the mvcount the more ram is needed. Could this have anything to do with hte one user getting the insufficient memory error if their pc doesn't have enough ram or is it the server which must have enough ram? Also does the mvcount mean that each pc can use that many memory variables or does it depend on how many users are using the exe at any one time? Thanks for any help anyone can give. I don't really know how memory of the server and/or the workstations affects the speed and
>capabilty of the exe. I also read that putting a copy of the foxprol.ovl file on each workstation would greatly(?) enhance performance. Is this true? The temp files are currently kept on the server as not every user has enough space to keep them on their own hard-drive. Would this also help with performance? Thanks again for any help!

You might also check to make sure that the drive you have set for the temp files has enough disk space - at least 5 MB and that they have full rights to enough space for the files. If not, you can see an insufficient memory error.

You can also work at increasing the conventional memory with loading EMM386 and other programs into HIGH memory. This would allow you to avoid compiling to the extended version.

As others mentioned, moving the OVL and temp files to the local drive will dramatically increase performance. (Just make sure their local drive doesn't run out of space!)
