Happy new year!

Users of our distributed VFP9 application reported this error during instllation:

"InstallShield Wizard Completed

The wizard was interrupted before [app name] could be completely installed.

Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again."


Looking up this error on Google generates a ton of messages with people encountering this error with other apps like Quicken. There are all types of suggested solutions like editing the installation script, uninstalling Windows XP SP2, downloading files, etc.

However, before trying those I managed to trace the problem to one merge module: MSXML 3.0. If I exclude this module from the 'redistributable' list, the error does not occur and the software installs fine.

The error only occurs with MSXML 3.0. I was able to inclue the MSXML 4 in the distribution without causing this error (for some reason I actually have 2 MSXML4 in my redistributables list and I am selecting them both.)

Did anyone run into this problem? Was there a solution?
