You have undoubtedly gotten many good responses to this questions, which I do
not have time at the moment to read.
You know, it's usually considered against netiquette to chime in on a thread when you don't know what else has been said.
Also, please do not copy me on replies when you have no idea whether anything I said actually appears in what you're quoting.Mr. Fitzgerald:
This is ordinarily a response that I would keep private, but as you have elected a public forum, so be it.
My response was directed to Mr. Soldati, not to you. I do not believe you have any standing to object to the response in his place. Nor do I need lessons in etiquette from you. I prefaced my reply with the point that I had not had time to read all the responses just in case what I said had already been said and by way of both explanation and apology to the members if that was so. I copied you as a courtesy, nothing more. Since you do not wish the courtesy, I shall not extend it in the future. But, if you do not wish to read a copy of my response, I presume it is in your power not to do so -- I therefore cannot see in what manner you were inconvenienced.
While on the subject of courtesy. Generally if you have a strong objection to a member's actions, it is a more in keeping with the very high level of this forum to address the matter privately to the member. I would certainly extend such a courtesy to you.
I must have missed the part where you were elected policeman of this thread.
