>You are arguing my points. 7 yards is not a physical confrontation. Its pointing the gun and pulling the trigger from 5 or 10 or 20 feet. Its rolling down the window & shooting as they drive by. If someone did NOT have a gun and had to resort to some other weapon like a bat or crowbar, things change drastically. And its a bit harder to conceal a bat or crowbar than a gun. To get back to your original comment that if it wasnt guns, it would be another weapon... its a bit less likely that a person would have a bat or crowbar in their posession when they enter a club or a liquor store. Its the ease of concealment and the ability to avoid a physical confrontation that are intrinsic in guns that are not necessarily characteristics of other weapons.

You don't know what you are talking about. Have you ever encountered anyone who pulled a knife or a tire tool? I have and inside bars. They were easily concealed and I pulled my pistol. Checkmate. Seven yards can be covered in two or three steps, so yes it is up close and personal. You are just grasping at straws trying to bolster your argument that it's the tool of choice, not the user. You are wrong, wrong, wrong.
