Ok, I resolved this issue. Basically, I was trying to avoid the possibility of receiving an empty date as a parameter in one of my Web Service method, which could be the case if the Web Service is accessed from VFP. But, the Web Service will throw an error is an empty date is received. So, I don't have to deal with that.
