Hi Peter,

Absolutely it's possible. If I recall correctly, Calvin Hsia went a long way to making VFP run on WinCE a few years back just for kicks. But there's no good business reason for doing this as far as MS is concerned and it's hard to argue with that. It would cost far more bucks to do it than would be recouped in sales and would muddy the PDA waters in terms of the "message" of how to develop on handhelds.

>>>> My proposal is that we ask the vfp-team to develop a thin runtime that actually does run on a PDA. Below is a tentatively built list of functions and commands that can be omitted, as I see it now.

>>This is unrealistic since there are no plans to enhnace the core VFP product other than using the add-on extensiblity model, and that any resources for Windows Mobile features (PDA, Smartphone, etc.) is going into Visual Studio. Visual Studio 2005 includes great support for building mobile applications visually, there is the .NET Compact Framework and Pocket SQL Server available for mobile devices, etc. All resources in this area will go towards improving the existing functionality in Visual Studio and the .NET Compact Framework.
