Try setting File Caching = OFF at the client, and leave the True Commit ON. If the problems disapear, and you have many workstations, Neils prop. to do that in the server is the way to go.
I always set Op. Locking off at the server anyway, as a security measure to prevent data corruption ( this is particularly true with Win2k and 2003 Server ).
