>You asked me whether I considered myself qualified, asked me to define qualified, and who on the UT was qualified.

You didn't actually define "qualified", you just enumerated your CV (just like your "mentor" did). I would consider a few other .Net developers (I know personally) extremely qualified but they haven't done anything on your list. Are you actually saying to be a qualified .Net developer, you must be a C# MVP two years in a row, write the Bakers Dozen articles, have a book deal etc., I don't think that is a reasonable definition of qualified at all.

In fact, the most brilliant VFP mind (on a world-wide stage) I have ever had the pleasure to encounter is the most painfully shy and modest person I know; he would shudder at the thought of lauding his ability in the way you just did.

By the way, how do you feel about having a "Rotweiller" defending you like as though are unable to speak for yourself? It would get me down, big time.
