The code above (with some minor corrections) works well. That is, it allows me to enter a value that is not in the cursor MyTable. Thank you very much.
But what I don't understand is why, after I add the new record to the table MyTable (in Valid event), I don't see it (the new record) in the pull-down of the combo?
