I wonder why everyone is questioning Whil's intentLikewise. All I know is that the man stopped producing his "first-rate FP conferences for a fair cost" and is to start again. I tried to attend his last conference but had to cancel days beforehand. This time I'll move hell and high water to attend! I need to attend at least one FP conference before speech-enabled devices burst onto the scene and change IT forever ;-)
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
