It really depends on what you're comfortable with. Both C# and VB .Net both interpret out pretty much the same to the IL level for further compilation. So if both higher level languages provide the same internal results, what's the big deal?

I think you, and a lot of other folks, are missing the point. One of the main points to .Net is that you leverage the language skills you have and you'll get more-or-less the same result. Sure there are some differences as to capabilities but almost none in common programming functions.

C# will not replace C++ anytime soon. C# is much more managed than C++ and unmanaged code is still needed in a lot of situations. Perhaps at some point when Win provides a much more managed environment....

>Reading on the TIOBE article regarding programming languages that will be shakers and movers this 2006, I can't help but to feel comfortable in choosing C# as our core development language together with VFP as long as the latter remains being supported by MS, and because of the opinion that VB is a loser this 2006 while VB.Net is just a C# in disguise. It is also noted that C# will become the core language of Microsoft replacing C++ which might be true to me.
