I've got a BSc hons in computer studies and a HND (higher national diploma), but, to tell you the truth, I've hardly had to use half of what I learned there (certainly never turing machines, automata and most MI :-). As the years have gone on, and packages become more GP and powerful, I find that most my job is back-of-an-envelope spec and eyes down to write progs, build forms etc.
Sometimes I feel it was years wasted, when I could have just done a 10 week programming course (like people do for web design) and got on with earning. But, then again, back then I may not have got my "feet under the table" without a degree.

However, as I already have one, and you do, I feel I would gain little in my current job by furthering my educ.
I fact I've rarely been asked if I AM a grad., or been asked to see my diplomae (if I could find the buggers!)
