I vaguely and probably incorrectly recall that bookmarks and the search for them are case sensitive. Its been a long while since i looked at the code, but for some reason, i have users compose bookmarks in CAPs and the search is done in caps.

>okay when I try this I now get error. OLE Idispatch exception code 0 from word...cannot find requested bookmark. It passes the exists test but crashes on the goto portion? Any ideas
