Sorry it took so long to respond. I haven't been back on the thread since the 6th. No, at this time there are no plans for a Codebook 6.0, YAG is just tooo buzy, but the code is not stagnating.
If you purchase the book, you are entitled to download a significantly improved version from CT Blankenship's web page. At Devcon, CTB was hired by Y. Alan Griver to join Flash and one of his first job duties will be to incorporate his code, Ed Leafe's code and Flash's code and it will be put out in the FoxPro public domain (the original target date was late August, but you know how that goes).
Also, Ed Leafe runs a support forum for Codebook on his website (codebook.leafe.com) which has been a priceless tool for me in my work with Codebook. He made a major addition to the Flash version of Codebook by expanding the business object to be far more flexible.
Even without the updated material, the original model for handling the data environment as a codable, sub-class-able object is elegant, simple and as valid in 6.0 as it was in 3.0. I am not aware that there will be that many improvements in the visual sub-class-ablity of the data environment in 6.0.
Hope this helps
Pamela
