I am doing a straight forward APPEND FROM. The two files have different fields but several in common. I have been using this same technique since 2.0 and I have never seen this - a 7 character field is being appended from a 7 character field of the same name and only 6 characters are arriving... sometimes! I open up a table and do an append from sixteen different tables. This routine has been working great and in fact I ran one set of data this morning and it was fine. Then moments later, I selected a different date range and it truncated the field for about one third of the files. There are even some truncated within one APPEND and some not. It is also consistent. I verified that the file being appended from has 7 characters. By the way, did I mention this is on Citrix?
