>>>>>>Oh yeah. That wasn't another spin-off was it, or just part of PJ? And wasn't there a special breezy song for that, maybe playing at the end of the show?
>>>>
>>>>Now seriously. Did you people really watch that crap stuff?
>>>
>>>You've got to remember that back in those days, in the UK, there were only 2 channels: ITV and BBC. In the 70s came BBC2. We had no choice: it was that or the test card :-)

>>Ok, I'll grant it might have been a tough choice, but I wouldn't go as far as no choice. Hard to say which way I'd have gone since I wasn't put in that position - North Americans have no such excuse, but I figure I'd have probably watched a couple of episodes of each of them and then finally opted for the test card. It was certainly funnier, and had more emotional range.

>Well I thought the Bev. H's was boss. I'd be happy to watch repeats of them today (like I never tire of seeing any of the Bilko episodes - I must have seen all 80-odd but still they kill me). Can't remember too much about the spin-offs.

Bilko is a different kettle of fish. Phil Silvers was made for that role, and the crew around him was excellent (especially Doberman - a man so ugly that he was cute).
