I recommend that you buy a scanner which is connected between your keyboard and your computer. Buy an intelligent one, they can read most standard barcodes automatically. And make sure that you get the manual, or that you can locate it on the internet for download.

Most scanner can be user configured in a lot of ways, but usually the default settings are OK. Among the things you can configure, is whether the scanner shall add Enter or not. Another useful feature which most scanner have built in, is that they can be programmed to add a character you decide before and/or after the scanned text. This means that you can look for this character in Keypress or Interactivechange and programmatically move the cursor to the editbox where you want the scanned text to be filled in. This means that you don't necessarily have to have the cursor in the correct editbox whem your users start scanning. To get this to work will require a little programming, but your customers will love it.
