After seeing this post yesterday, I went and checked this out. I downloaded it and started teaching my two oldest children (10 & 8). With the first lesson, they were able to write text to the screen, draw 2D graphics onto the screen, and even load images and have the image move across the screen. I know... very easy stuff, but extremely easy for them to do. It took my 10 year old about an hour (or slightly more) to grasp the concepts needed to accomplish what I listed, but my 8 year old got it down in under 30 minutes. Of course, my 8 year old likes to solve Sudoku puzzles, too.

Anyway, I would highly recommend this product. It's free, it comes with lots of examples, a tutorial, and a teachers guide. It also will let you view the code you write as it would be written in C# or VB.NET.

Thanks for posting the link. Peggy, you should really take this into consideration, it will be a LOT easier to learn (for you and your student) than VFP.
