I started off using Rick's Westwind classes but encountered a few problems here and there (can't remember exactly what - awhile back) and ended up "rolling my own" with Win32 calls. If you're interested I can send you some samples of the code. It isn't very difficult and has been working fine with merchants (it's a credit card payment processing application) for the last couple of years.
