Terry,
That sounds like some pretty wishful thinking. Microsoft has done everything short of hand writing every VFP developer letter letting them know that the product is going away. Heres a Jeff Foxworthy style list
Just start each of these bullets out with “Your development language might be Discontinued if…”
10. Your Advisor magazine is thinner than a bulimic Ethiopian.
9. The name of your development tool is removed from the product mangers title.
8. Your product is removed from Visual Studio
7. You go to every book store in your area and find more books on basket weaving than your development tool.
6. Your development tools home page is found under “other development tools” on the company’s web site
5. Your development tool isn’t going to be moved to 64 bit.
4. They start giving away books on how to use there other development tool “.Net for FoxPro Programmers”
3. They remove your development tools certification exams. From there certification program.
2. The next scheduled release of your development tool in 2 years wont be another version but an add on library.
1. Your tools home page has more references to .Net than itself.

All that being said, I still use VFP and will continue to use it. I also use .Net and will gradually do more of my development in .Net . I think that if I want to continue to have marketable skills this make sense.
