>>>A while ago we had a discussion about discrimination. your statement above seems to be quite different to your standpoint up then.
>>
>>Refresh my mind. But do not see my above statement as discrimination. If a majority votes for terrorists, then this majority is co-responsible for that terrorism.
>
>Well you said: Since the majority of the Palestinians have given their vote to Hamas, it is now acceptible to state that the Palestinians are terrorists and evil people.
>
>You're saying something along the line like if the majority of marrocan people between 10-30 in Amsterdam - Diamantbuurt are criminal, all marrocans in that agegroup up there are criminal. This is what I should classify as discrimination. Aside from that, I have a hard time to believe all the people who voted for Hamas, really have terrorism in mind as their primary reason to vote for hamas. Also remember there are other groups as well like the al aqsa brigade.

Discrimination is not necessarilly a consequence of a negative opinion. I think it is better to generalize and know that you generalize, for the sake of the discussion, than to be afraid to generalize and therefore never come to the point. Fortuyn did it and Rita does it.

>>>Aside the fact that hamas won the election, you have to wonder why they did. I simply do not believe they all want the destruction of the state isreal, but merely because of the failings of the former regime in other aspects.
>
>>Oh, I feel pretty sure that they actually would have a big celebration if Israël got wiped into the sea. Talking about discrimination: Anti-semitism is widespread there.
>
>Sure they would as this has been told throughout their lives by forces that had and still have in this region. The world (isreal, the US and the UN) have nothing done to take away the seed of terrorism. You can go in, crush houses, shoot arround, killing people, but in the end you're just seeding more terrorism. In stead they had provide the means to build up their economy so that people could receive education.

Here is an interesting parallel with the film Munich, by Steven Spielberg. Please, read this article: http://www.boston.com/news/globe/editorial_opinion/oped/articles/2006/01/16/terrorism_confusing_cause_effect/
I think you are doing the same thing as Alan Dershowitz suggests Steven Spielberg is doing: Confusing cause and effect. There is a lack of understanding of what happened first. Of course this is a topic for porbably endless debate, but it is an important debate.

>>>It is interesting to see what is going to happen. If hamas continues the terroristic activities, it will be a good reason for Isreal to take action without beeing affraid of the opinion of the international community. Be aware that arrafat was not innocent to terroristic activities either.
>
>>Arafat, yes, the Palestinians have indeed a tradition to uphold.
>
>I think you have to look at history and culture to see why it is this way. Learn the lessons and find a way out. Arabs in general are not so flexible and take huge value to their culture and pride. This indeed a problem the arab world has to solve. OTOH, we won't solve the issue unless:
>- We find a way without to much violence to tighten the relationship between arabs and the western world
>- Or we wipe away the arab world entirely.
>
>I know what I should pick.

What? :)

Constructive frustration is the breeding ground of genius.
If there’s no willingness to moderate for the sake of good debate, then I have no willingness to debate at all.
Let's develop superb standards that will end the holy wars.
