I'm about at my wits end on this.
I'm working on an app that has a windows and web component, both of which access a SQL database on another system.
I am using SQL authentication (name and password) for convinience and according to all the reading material this should be pretty simple.
But when I am running the web side of things it always fails to connect. It give me a "SQL server does not exist or access is denied" error message. I'm using the exact same connection string that works just fine in the windows app.
Everything I read says that using SQL authentication with web apps is straight forward, and I've done it in the past. I'm missing something but I have no idea what.
